After world war one a joint-stock company was founded and since 1923 the company went into a joint venture with the New York Hamburger Gummiwaaren Compagnie to develop and produce special synthetic resins. During the thirties and forties the elastomer compounding expanded and the production of moulded articles begun. After the founder Arthur Schmidt passed away in the year 1942 the company was changed into a limited partnership.
